Terms & Conditions

Please read the following passage for some of our most common terms and conditions.


By accepting an estimate, call out or by our hourly rate, you accept all the relevant following terms and conditions;

  1. All invoices are due immediately upon the issue of an invoice, and all payments must be made immediately, same day. We do not offer credit, we are not able to provide any time between invoicing and payment.
  2. The warranty period will commence from the works completion date on the invoice, however no warranty claims will be accepted prior to full payment of the full invoice balance. Our warranty period, unless specifically specified is 12 months tamper free. We aim to respond to all warranty issues within 7 days, but if immediate attendance is required where we are currently engaged, this may result in an immediate attendance charge. If an inspection is requested by a third party prior to our awareness, this may alter warranty status and claims. All materials and products remain the property of Forward Electrical Solutions Ltd until full payment has been received. All overdue payments not paid within 7 days will receive daily interest and may be subject to additional fees including but not limited to; compensation, administration costs and any invoice recovery fees.
  3. When an estimate is not provided, or required, or wished, then all works will revert back to the following standard rates. These rates may also be used on call outs, where works are only expected to take a short time, or when it is unknown how much work will be required. All the following rates are related within driving time from the B98 postcode; Standard call out within 25 min drive; £80, Emergency call out (immediate attendance required); £90, Out of hours (8am to 8pm) attendance fee : £100, Out of hours (8pm to 8am) emergency / immediate attendance fee: £125, All of the above prices include the attendance and one hour on site. All further hours will be chargeable as £20 per half hour. Our follow on rate starts when each half hour is entered.
  4. Our above rates and prices include set up and set down, cleaning duties, administration duties within chargeable time. They do not include any materials and these will be charged on top of any labour.
  5. Payment for large works may need to be paid in stages of job progress. This will be detailed on the estimate. Where this is not adhered to, further works will be delayed awaiting payment.
  6. Specific breakdowns for materials used on works will not be provided.
  7. Where additional work is requested after agreed works have  already commenced, a new estimate will be provided. This may alter existing payment terms and an additional charge and/or deposit may be applicable.
  8. Where a delay occurs due to slow or refusal of payment, we will not be  held accountable for any additional costs  from third parties.
  9. Where a bank transfer is made to pay for our services, we will only act upon the clearing of funds.
  10. We accept cash, cleared bank transfer and card payments. All payments are in line with above payment terms.
  11. Where a specific works generates waste i.e replacing light fittings, chasing walls etc, the waste generated from your property will remain on the premises unless specifically requested and charged for. The only waste we will remove is waste provided by ourselves including boxes and packaging. Under no circumstances will any plasterboard or asbestos be removed.
  12. Working with asbestos; Our company policy where any asbestos is discovered or believed to be present, is to inform the client immediately an stop work in that area. If this prevents us from continuing our works, adds additional time, or results in additional visits, this is outside of our control and additional charges will be applied as per our standard rates. We will not cover the cost of any asbestos testing or removal, and when it is refused to have these areas tested, then work will seize and an invoice will be raised for the works completed or time on site. This may or may not be alongside a certificate if relevant.
  13. Certification; Certification will be provided on completion of all works within 28 days of completion, and a building control notice issued within 21 days where applicable. We only formally accept the completion of works upon payment. There are some instances where payment must be paid prior to the issue of certification / documentation i.e when an EICR is performed. Where certification is required there may be additional fees to pay to cover the cost of these documents. These prices are nominal and are NOT negotiable. There is no option to not have a certificate. These prices are per certificate. Minor works certificate (£4.50), Electrical installation certificate (£6.50). EICR documentation is not chargeable. Where it is requested that a certificate is reissued, there will be an administration fee. This administration fee is currently set at £45, which is to be paid prior to the issue of any documentation. This is for each time a certificate is requested.
  14. We will not certify any works that any other contractor, worker or person has completed or partially completed that does not form part of Forward Electrical Solutions Ltd
  15. All equipment provided by Forward Electrical Solutions Ltd is purely for the sole use of our workers or contractors, and any use by third parties which results in injury will be entirely at your own risk. The third party use of our equipment is strictly prohibited including access equipment, power tools etc. Where any equipment is provided for our use by a third party, it is deemed that the condition of the equipment is safe and suitable for use. We will not accept any responsibility for any damage occurred when using such equipment. Where it is arranged to use third party / clients equipment, such as loft ladders, if it is deemed unsafe for use, or unusable upon arrival, additional costs may occur for the time taken to source alternative measures.
  16. We are not able to move furniture, appliances or personal belongings unless pre agreed or un extreme circumstances. Working areas are to be cleared prior to our arrival and areas suitably covered to your satisfaction. If it is requested for our workers/contractors to relocate personal belongings, we will not accept any liability for damages occurred. All possessions, especially valuable are recommended to be removed from working areas prior to work commencing, or covering/protecting to your satisfaction. We are unable to accept any liability for any damages. We will perform basic cleaning duties upon the completion of works, however it is accepted that additional cleaning may be required by yourselves or another professional upon us vacating the work area. This is highly recommended for food preparation areas.
  17. Parking is to be provided by the client or the person /company ordering the works. Where off road parking is not provided, any additional parking costs / charges will be added to the final invoice. This includes, parking charges, parking fines, the purchase of visitors passes, and the time taken for traveling from the vehicle to load and unload tools as part of our hourly rate. Where off road parking is not provided, and parking is permit/restricted access/resident only, this will be utilized and any charges for doing so added to the final invoice. If it is not deemed safe to park, and parking has not been provided, it may not be possible for us to complete our works and our call out fees will still be chargeable.
  18. Where specialist equipment is needed, such as access equipment, lifts and the like, the cost incurred will be in addition to our fees or estimate, and it is the responsibility of the client for payment of these either directly with the supplier or prior to the work starting.
  19. Dust shall be kept to a minimum, but thorough or professional cleaning may be required after completion of the work, which we are not responsible for.
  20. We are not accountable for any injury or illness, to human or animal life if you as the client fail to thoroughly clean the environment after completion of works.
  21. Children are not to be left un supervised and we are unable to accept any responsibility for their welfare.
  22. We do not take any responsibility for pets or other animals, these must be secured outside of the working area.
  23. We use google tracking to help identify our timings and these may be used for our commercial gain.
  24. We may have one or more person working at your property on a project and the above per hour charges are per man hour.
  25. We reserve the right to record all calls through all associated phone numbers of forward electrical solutions ltd. These may be used for monitoring, invoice recovery, to form a contract for works and costings/charges.
  26. We may ask you to complete google or other reviews and respect honesty.
  27. Any reviews provided publicly may be used for financial gain.
